Revamping Modern Warfare: Bringing Back Classic Weapons

An extensive look at the re-emergence of classic weapons within the Modern Warfare realm, specifically considering the growing popularity of such weaponry within Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer modes.

One notable aspect of Modern Warfare 2, a weapon that saw widespread popularity, is surprisingly emerging as a premier option for Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer modes. Its potential is overshadowed due to the gaming community's current focus.

An Under-appreciated Weapon in Modern Warfare 3

In a demonstration on March 10, a CoD gaming expert presented the Lachmann Sub as a leading weapon in multiplayer, overcoming the prior prejudice against MW2 firearms acknowledged as less potent compared to MW3 weaponry.

The expert noted, 'The MW2 guns have become outdated in many aspects this year, but developers revitalized the MP5, the Lachmann Sub, in the Season 2 Reloaded and gave it a competitive feel. In a multiplayer setting where the TTK is already quick, usage is feasible and it indeed competes well.'

He went on to explain that many of the attachments from Modern Warfare 2 don't necessarily boost the Submachine Gun’s power so the weapon was built without a stock or rear grip. Instead, it comes outfitted with a laser and an extended magazine.

The recommended configuration he suggested for the Lachmann Sub includes a ZEHMN35 Compensator for the muzzle, a L38 Falcon 226mm barrel, an OR-6 Handstop underbarrel, a Kimura RYL33 Laser, and a 40-round magazine.

Yet, despite its efficacy and the buff it received, WZRanked statistics show the Lachmann Sub is still not receiving the recognition it deserves. Interest shown by gamers has not surged much since being buffed, indicating it's still under-appreciated.

While there's potential the weapon could resurface as a popular choice again in the future, for now, it seems it might continue to be overshadowed by MW3 options.
