Baldur’s Gate 3 Platinum Trophy Unlocked on PlayStation 5
Baldur’s Gate 3 Platinum Trophy has reportedly been unlocked on PlayStation 5 using the cross-save system on PC.
Developer Larian Studios' Contribution
Developer Larian Studios has implemented an account system that allows players to transfer Baldur’s Gate 3 saves between PC and PS5 seamlessly. This feature is slated to extend to Xbox consoles following their launch later in the year, enabling progression to transfer between respective PC and Microsoft-owned console platforms.
Setting Up Cross-Save Feature
The cross-save feature is simple to set up. Users only need to create a free Larian Studios account and enable the PC and console cross-save feature. The user can then log in on their second device to access their game data. Astonishingly, some PlayStation players have already started achieving BG3 Trophies using their PC saves.
Current Statistics
As of September 5, records show that at least one PS5 user has unlocked the BG3 Platinum, even though the game had only launched in early access on September 3. The 'Pride of Baldur’s Gate' Platinum has been recorded as being earned by 0.1 percent of PS5 players connected to PSNProfiles, while the 'Descent From Avernus' trophy, has been unlocked by 91 percent of users.
Strategy Used by Players
Players are reportedly unlocking these trophies by relying on the efficient cross-save system between PC and PS5. Players are strategically using saves from the PC version to earn trophies on the PS5. At the moment, however, it's still not clear how exactly Trophy hunters on PS5 are managing to transfer their Steam Achievements to Baldur’s Gate 3’s PS5 version.
User Response
In response to inquiries about this process, one user explained they had made a save at the final choice of the game on PC, then utilized cloud save with a Larian account to load the save on PS5 and subsequently unlock the trophies.
Achievement/Trophy Transfer
Performing an Achievement/Trophy transfer might not be straightforward for everyone. Those looking to do so might need to wait for the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PlayStation, possibly due to the complications involved in importing Trophy data. The much-anticipated RPG is set to launch on PS5 on Wednesday, September 6.
